Swanley Sub-Aqua Club
Try Dive
Have you have ever watched an undersea nature programme, or perhaps seen divers while you were away on holiday?
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to breathe underwater, or try the sport and experience the diverse life to be found in the sea for yourself?
If you answered yes to any of the above but thought it would be too expensive especially if you didn’t like it!

Well think again, because now you can!

Swanley Sub-Aqua Club offers FREE Try Dives on Monday evenings at White Oak Swimming Pool, We supply all the kit, an experienced diver to show you how to use it and approximately an hour in the water. All you need is a swimming costume, a tee-shirt (that you don’t mind getting wet), this is to prevent the equipment rubbing and we'll supply the rest.

What is a Try Dive, you may ask?
It’s a way of having a go at Scuba Diving by way of a quick introduction and session in the pool, without all the expence of doing a course. For most people a try dive is their first taste of diving, it’s a great way of partaking in a unique experience that only us divers can experience. For most people the sensation of breathing underwater is one that will stay with them for a long time.

Do I need to be able to swim?
You don’t have to be an Olympic swimmer but it is recommended that you can swim a couple of lengths.

What do I need to bring along?
You will need your normal swimming costume and an old tee-shirt you don't mind getting wet. This is to stop any rubbing underneath the equipment you will wear.

What happens during the session?
You will be sized up and given all the necessary scuba equipment. You will be shown only the basics at this stage prior to entering the water in standing depth. Here you will be shown how the equipment functions and then when you are happy your instructor will stay close to you whilst you begin to ultimately explore the depths of our pool. You will normally expect to be in the water around 45 minutes to 1 hour.

What if I don't like it?
No problem, you walk away knowing you have had a go. You are under no pressure or commitment at all. We are a non-profit making club and as such, there is no big sales pitch at the end of the day.

What if I do like it?
We hope that you will enjoy your diving session with Swanley Sub Aqua Club, & become hooked just like so many have before. If you are 16 years or over and are able to declare yourself fit to dive then you would be more than welcome to join our club. If you are over 14 but under 16 then a parent or guardian must be a full member of the club before you can join.

What does it cost?
For the privilege of an hour in the company of a qualified, experienced diver, it will only cost you your time there is nothing to pay,  IT'S FREE !

What do I need to do to get my free try dive?
You can drop us an e-mail or pop along to White Oak Pool on a Monday evening between 20:30 & 21:00 (excluding bank holidays) to arrange a date. If you do come along to the pool without booking beforehand we will do our best to try & fit you in, but there’s no guarantee because all the equipment may already be pre-booked.
