Q. What equipment does your club have?
A. The Club currently has 3 fully equipped boats on trailers ready to be used at any time.
Below is a picture of our Humber 5.5metre RIB, this is fitted with a 70HP Suzuki 4 stroke outboard, bottle rack, VHF radio, GPS & echo sounder.
This boat is small enough to tow behind a family saloon & easy enough to launch by only a couple of people, there is enough room to carry 6 divers on calm days but on choppy days 4 divers & a coxswain is the norm.
Below can be seen the clubs other 2 boats they are Avon inflatable’s, the Orange one is a CRRC520. This is 5.2metres long & fitted with a Yamaha 40hp 2stroke outboard & will carry 6 divers easily or 8 at a squeeze. It has a flexible floor which means it can be taken off the trailer & rolled up to fit in the back of an estate car or van.
The black boat is a 5meter with a 30hp Yamaha 2 stroke outboard, this has an aluminium floor & will carry 4 diver comfortably or 6 at a squeeze.

All boats carry first aid kits, flairs, radios & 2 fuel tanks.
The inflatable’s have the advantage of being able to use them where slipways are not available, because they can be carried down the beach.
The club boats are usually used for multiple trips on the same day, that way we can get more people diving & if there is the need we can take more than one boat.
For training purposes we have 7 & 10 litre cylinders along with a selection of various sized stab jackets (BC’s) regulators & weightbelts for pool use only, there is a small charge of £2 per night, this is to pay part way towards having the cylinders re-filled with air. We also have a small selection of masks & fins but these are normally being used for try dives so we advise you get your own basic equipment (mask fins & snorkel) by getting your own they will fit you better.
